It's Beginning to Look ALOT Like Christmas!

It is beginning to look AND feel alot like the holidays now, everywhere I go! I wore this red dress today because it really put me in the spirit and made me feel very lovely and ladylike.

I paired it with this neat gold chain and pearls necklace to give it some edge and hardware.

Nothing is really complete without a bow. I added chocolate tights and boots to keep it from being too stiff and to keep me from being too cold!

This dress gets alot of movement during my day! I always try and pick things that I can teach in, which means lots of up and down and an apron over it too.

We have been doing nonstop holiday art over the past two weeks in my art room. Definitely one of the best perks of being an art teacher is picking holiday projects. I swear there are so many cute ones I don't know if I will ever get to try them all!

These gingerbread men were crafted by my sweet Kindergarteners today. They loved their "cookie" ornaments and listening to the story of the naughty gingerbread man.

These reindeer were made in first and second grade. I taught them how to draw him and they loved painting him. We used tempera cakes because they really help down on the mess and me running around pouring paint every 5 seconds!

Third grade just finished drawing these grinny Grinches... Definitely one of my favorite holiday stories.

What are your favorite holiday stories? What gets you in the holiday spirit?

Here Comes the Bride (and lotsa lace)

I have such an amazing year coming up! I get to be in two of my very best friend's weddings (and a third one in 2015!).

Here she is, she is soo beautiful and stylish! Here we are at her bridal shower this past weekend.  It took me a long time to decide to buy this dress but I'm glad I did!

We played that game where you get in teams and you make wedding dresses out of toilet paper. I got to be the mannequin. It was a close call but my team won!

I'm not sure who made the cake but it was beautiful and DELICIOUS!

I decided to take the lace theme into the work week and wore this purple lace dress today.  I love wearing dresses to work because they are so comfy but also classy.  I keep several aprons at school though because (being an art teacher) things get very messy!

I used to never dress up for work in fear of getting art supplies on it... but the risk is work it to feel polished every day.

What is your favorite bridal shower game?  How did you spend your weekend?

Don't Let It Snow (When I'm Sick)

Hello blogland!

Sorry for the delay in posts... Still getting in the swing of this over here! :-)  A "snowstorm" hit OKC last week, keeping me out of school for 3 days. Also a tummy bug hit me that kept me out of life for even longer!

Here is a shot of our Oklahoma "Snowpacalypse". It was very icy and VERY cold.  Even stranger, we had earthquakes come at the same time. Only in Oklahoma!  I took this shot when I was feeling a bit better and ventured out to Starbucks. It was really one of the worst days I've had in awhile. I was so sad I couldn't go to a friend's sweet 4 year olds birthday, so I pouted over some Starbucks.  It definitey helped my mood!

A shot of me and "Peabody" pre-sickness. I will say I loved getting out with my neighbors and building a snowman! I had not done that in years! Alot of the times in OK we just have ice, but this was beautiful packing snow yippee!  I also loved getting to finally wear this cozy sweater! It was very warm and I love that style right now.

Best part of being sick during a snowstorm though was I had sweet people to help take care of me!! I was very blessed and though I was pretty pouty I am just glad to be better and to have enjoyed some beautiful snow and days off.

What did you do on your snow days (if you had any)? What's your favorite part of snowy weather?

Bows on bows on bows....

Good afternoon! I am so excited today for two reasons. First, I am excited because the snow and ice is finally melting here in OKC! Secondly, I'm excited for my first outfit post! Hopefully you will enjoy it as much as I have had fun wearing it.

These are my first blog pics, so if you have any tips for taking them yourself without them looking "totally selfie" please leave a comment!!

Bows on Bows on Bows! I love it! I am a sucker for anything girly girl style. I am pretty sure my little girl students would be proud.

This is my first time to wear this skirt, which I adore because it is covered in tiny bows, a big trend this year. I paired it with a simple soft t-shirt and my thermal leggings (warmer than pants, I swear!!) I also have a bow on my bag, and the blue gives it a pop of color.

This is how I really looked, bundled up to venture out at the end of our "Snowpacalypse". School was out (again) today so I got to sleep in, drink hot tea (since I have been sick) and take my time getting ready.

I got to go on a date with this lovely lady. Kelsea and I have known each other since the 7th grade and she is one of my very best friends. She is a Speech Language Pathologist, so she works with children like I do. I love getting to get together and share our funny stories.  She is also one of my favorite shopping buddies, so we did a little of that today too! A wonderful winter morning if I do say so.

She is also a blogger, so if you would like to check out her stuff, click here!

Meet OKC Glam

Hello World!

My name is Amanda, and this is my new blog! I am so excited to start posting here and sharing my life, adventures, creations, and inspirations.

A little about me. I am a 20-something female reigning from the mid-midwest of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. I love my dear Oklahoma City and the way we are growing. It is not the most fashion inspired place, but I want to share the joys and beauty I find in it every day!! (Pictured is the OKC Downtown Skyline, and a little team I adore called the THUNDER!!!!)

I am an art teacher full time.  I love my students and have learned alot in the 3 years teaching from these little friends (and yes I really am that pale).

I dabble part time in just about everything else, especially local modeling, arts and crafting, fashionista-ing, exercising, and the list goes on.

I am religious and spiritual it tends to be something I keep more to myself as a special thing between me and God. BUT I will say it is important to me to be a light and love for others to shine God into the world. :-)  You may hear about these musings from time to time. Trust me I respect everyone's opinions and I am just as happy to hear any side whether it's my thoughts or not. You never know what will spark something in you!

I find the most important thing in my life is to find inspiration and give it to others where you can.  I have started exploring blogland about 6 months ago, and I love finding so much insight from other bloggers and learning not just about their style but their lives.

I hope that my little corner of the internet here will help share my own adventures, inspire, and for me to be inspired as well!

Xoxo,

Amanda
