Cake cake cake// i leopard obsessed pt. 2

(Kelsea, V and I. Oh and more leopard. Grr:))
Today my friends and I celebrated my sweet friend V's birthday! We are celebrating our 20th year of being friends so it has been an exciting year.  My friend Kelsea and I are celebrating our 15th year! Go us!

(here are more of our friends and the delicous Whiskey Cake!)
We ate and gabbed at a newer restaurant here in OKC called Whiskey Cake. I had the chicken and waffles, soo so so amazing! I would definitely go back. They also offer full french presses of coffee, and well, yes, I'll be going back.  It was a great way to celebrate on a cold and blustery day here in OKC!

(Me and Kelsea)

My dearest Kelsea is also a blogger. Please go check out her link HERE.  She is a beautiful writer and also very witty!

(Beautiful 27!)

I was literally in a cake coma yesterday afternoon! After the Whiskey Cake her boyfriend surprised her with this beautiful raspberry creme cake from La Baguette, a french bakery and restaurant here in OKC. I highly recommend it it was delicious!

We also tried some Miracle Frooties, which have this magical ability to make sour fruits and foods taste amazing!! I licked a lemon, a lime, grapefruit, and kiwi.  They all tasted like sweet candy! mmm!

It was a fun day with some sweet people. Happy Birthday V!!!

Work Swag and Wings

It has been back to the land of the little this week (aka back to school).  I love mixing in some fashion forward pieces while still being work appropriate. I find that to always be the battle! I'm sure for all of you teachers out there you understand. First there is the problem of being modest, and second the fact that at any moment your clothes may become a gluey/painty/handprinted mess!

I think somewhere in my third year of teaching I started to say YOLO and wear my favorite pieces to work anyway, since I spend 40 or more hours there every week!!  It's fun though, my students are my best little fashion critics (since we know children are brutally honest hehe).

I did make some very smart investments of some cute aprons (reminder I am the art teacher!) and that has really helped! I still try to leave most white and lacy things for the weekend (sad).

Last night I had the chance to catch up at one of my favorite pubs here in OKC (McNellies) with one of my favorite people, Molly!! I have known her for a whopping 8 years now and I still adore her. We laugh more than most people ever should when they are together.

Plus there is nothing like a Leinenkugel Sunset Wheat and a grilled cheese with bacon to soothe the Monday blues!! ;) (Healthy, no?)

I couldn't get a great shot of my shoes with this outfit, so here is a close up and atime for me to post about my beloved feet tattoos! I have an angel wing on each foot. They mean so much to me!  They are a reminder for me to stay "grounded" in my faith and also a reminder of my personality which is much like the Greek messenger Hermes, always flitting about from one thing to another. :)  They have faded quickly since they are on my feet, so in 10 days I am getting them touched up (and let me say that is not going to tickle :()

Do you have any tattoos? Any advice on handling the pain? Please post in the comments below!

I hope you all had a MARVELOUS Monday! Thank you for stopping in my little corner of the internet!

Here Comes the Bride (and lotsa lace)

I have such an amazing year coming up! I get to be in two of my very best friend's weddings (and a third one in 2015!).

Here she is, she is soo beautiful and stylish! Here we are at her bridal shower this past weekend.  It took me a long time to decide to buy this dress but I'm glad I did!

We played that game where you get in teams and you make wedding dresses out of toilet paper. I got to be the mannequin. It was a close call but my team won!

I'm not sure who made the cake but it was beautiful and DELICIOUS!

I decided to take the lace theme into the work week and wore this purple lace dress today.  I love wearing dresses to work because they are so comfy but also classy.  I keep several aprons at school though because (being an art teacher) things get very messy!

I used to never dress up for work in fear of getting art supplies on it... but the risk is work it to feel polished every day.

What is your favorite bridal shower game?  How did you spend your weekend?

Bows on bows on bows....

Good afternoon! I am so excited today for two reasons. First, I am excited because the snow and ice is finally melting here in OKC! Secondly, I'm excited for my first outfit post! Hopefully you will enjoy it as much as I have had fun wearing it.

These are my first blog pics, so if you have any tips for taking them yourself without them looking "totally selfie" please leave a comment!!

Bows on Bows on Bows! I love it! I am a sucker for anything girly girl style. I am pretty sure my little girl students would be proud.

This is my first time to wear this skirt, which I adore because it is covered in tiny bows, a big trend this year. I paired it with a simple soft t-shirt and my thermal leggings (warmer than pants, I swear!!) I also have a bow on my bag, and the blue gives it a pop of color.

This is how I really looked, bundled up to venture out at the end of our "Snowpacalypse". School was out (again) today so I got to sleep in, drink hot tea (since I have been sick) and take my time getting ready.

I got to go on a date with this lovely lady. Kelsea and I have known each other since the 7th grade and she is one of my very best friends. She is a Speech Language Pathologist, so she works with children like I do. I love getting to get together and share our funny stories.  She is also one of my favorite shopping buddies, so we did a little of that today too! A wonderful winter morning if I do say so.

She is also a blogger, so if you would like to check out her stuff, click here!
