Wednesday Work Swag

(red, white, and leopard!)

Hello loves! I hope you are having a wonderful workweek!  Here is some "work swag" for your Wednesday enjoyment!  I paired a red pencil skirt, a white bouse, and eopard cardigan for a cute but work appropriate look. After two snow days off, I was honestly pretty ready to go back to work!

(check out my bling.  And no, my hand is not bruised just hazards of being an art teacher!)

What kind of work swag do you wear?  I love keeping my work wear fun, and fashionable, but still appropriate since I am with children all day.  A happy reminder... 2 days til the weekend!! :-)

T.G.I.F.// Got My Hurr Did

Alright my love doves! It is HERE! Friday!! The most HOPEFUL day of the week! Today I wanted to dress extra cute for school and mixed up some neutrals and stripes!  I love the kind of weather we are having in Oklahoma right now.  Warm enough to wear skirts and dresses but still cool enough to wear boots! I adore these brown boots.

Funny story, I was hiking and got into some mud last weekend, so I keep feeling little pieces fall down while I'm at school today! A little dirty but a reminder of some fun in the sun. :-)

This week has been INSANELY busy for me. We are on the eve of Youth Arts Month (March) so I have been running around like a chicken with his head cut off! Not to mention its tax season, and I am teaching a painting class to my fellow teachers on Saturday.  Great stuff and many blessings but busy busy busy!

In the midst of my arting, taxes, picking up supplies AND going to a new dr. yesterday I got my hurr did! It was long overdue.  Pictured behind me is my sweet friend/sister-from-anotha-mista/hairstylist!! She is the sweetest and I had so much fun catching up with her.

Voila! Goldilocks is back.  I am extra excited because I am FINALLY getting my hair to grow!! The remedy I have found for me is realizing a lack of iron in my diet.  I have started squirting liquid iron vitamins into my juice every day.

It has done incredible things for my hair and my energy! I would recommend this for anyone who doesn't eat a ton of meat or may be slightly anemic.

Have a wonderful Friday! Tell me how you made your Friday FABULOUS!

Keep on Keepin...warm!

It is no doubt a VERY chilly day across the country today!!  I had no idea it was even that cold or rainy, as I got to school around 6:45 a.m. and stayed in said classroom (without windows) until 3:30 when I finally ventured out to my car. I found it to be cold AND rainy. This showed me it was the perfect time to go get a peppermint mocha and learn more blog skills. Yay!

Here is my OOTD. I love love love this tunic.  I bought it consignment for less than $10.00.  I dressed it up with a pretty pink necklace and just felt warm, cute, and professional all day today.

This definitely helps, as any other fellow teachers know out there, teaching can be so rewarding, and yet on others so tiring and challenging that you leave that day feeling frustrated at the world and yourself. Yesterday was one of those days for me. My students (and trust me, I see over 200 different students each day) were wiley after the break.  A cute outfit and some Starbucks were just needed for this week.  I have been feeling frustrated and restless with myself and others.

So cheers to you out there, do something kind for yourself today. Remember as I must, that you can't control others. You can only care for them, but you must remember to care for your own heart and soul as well.  I hope all is well for you today, and please take care of yourself as well as the others in your life that you care so much for. Xoxo.

Meet OKC Glam

Hello World!

My name is Amanda, and this is my new blog! I am so excited to start posting here and sharing my life, adventures, creations, and inspirations.

A little about me. I am a 20-something female reigning from the mid-midwest of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. I love my dear Oklahoma City and the way we are growing. It is not the most fashion inspired place, but I want to share the joys and beauty I find in it every day!! (Pictured is the OKC Downtown Skyline, and a little team I adore called the THUNDER!!!!)

I am an art teacher full time.  I love my students and have learned alot in the 3 years teaching from these little friends (and yes I really am that pale).

I dabble part time in just about everything else, especially local modeling, arts and crafting, fashionista-ing, exercising, and the list goes on.

I am religious and spiritual it tends to be something I keep more to myself as a special thing between me and God. BUT I will say it is important to me to be a light and love for others to shine God into the world. :-)  You may hear about these musings from time to time. Trust me I respect everyone's opinions and I am just as happy to hear any side whether it's my thoughts or not. You never know what will spark something in you!

I find the most important thing in my life is to find inspiration and give it to others where you can.  I have started exploring blogland about 6 months ago, and I love finding so much insight from other bloggers and learning not just about their style but their lives.

I hope that my little corner of the internet here will help share my own adventures, inspire, and for me to be inspired as well!

Xoxo,

Amanda
